Hello. I won this coin at the RCNA auction last year.

Coin was sold as Error; 1978 1¢ Flipover Double Struck in collar NGC Choice Mint State-62RB

Was going through my SDB and finally noticed the details on the label from NGC.

This coin certainly doesn't look like a brockage to me...

What doers everyone else think? A error on the slab?

Thanks!

the lettering should be mirror reverse on one side of a brock? no? does look struck out of collar - more like the die cap of a brockage.

I don't see a brockage, die cap, or flipover strike; just an offset error.

Right, It's an off center strike, not a brockage.

NGC is wrong with the description. Weird... Not a complexe error !

It is an Uncentered Broadstrike, not a Reverse Brokage

It is an Uncentered Broadstrike

By definition a Broadstrike (centered or uncentered) must show all element of design.

Some design sections are missing in the coin presented in this post, so we have to describe it as an "off-center strike".

Not a broadstrike- you can see where it was sitting on part of the collar die. Collar die has to be absent for a broadstrike.

Thanks everyone! So double error- NGC certification error and TCNC auction listing error. Wow. Glad I only paid a fair price for an offstruck coin with this one.

Knew it wasn't a brockage as I own several and this isn't.
