I see nothing about the '97-s and 78-cc to lead me to believe they counterfeit. My jury is still out on the '95-o however. All three are at the very best cleaned/ problem coins no where near the grades and worth well below the values posted on the 2x2's.

FYI - The counterfeit section is for reporting counterfeits for sale, not evaluating if they are counterfeits.

Thanks Fuzzy, did not know that, not used to spotting a fake yet or even figuring it out!

I believe it is poor pictures combined with cleaned coins but you never know without seeing them in person. When in doubt go the safest route.

It's hard to tell whether the grainy look is from the pictures (scans?) or the actual coins. I think the whole pictures look grainy, which might mean the coins are fine. Still, it's nearly impossible to tell the quality of the coins from these pics. I'd be passing, that's for sure.

This auction is over, sure didn't bid on any...last time I looked at auction 1895O was $325, 1878CC was approaching $100, same with 1897S. Wasn't going to get into last minute bid war other than eat popcorn at the feeding frenzy of greedy gotta-haves and shills. I'm pretty sure this site uses them at times, have had fun playing w/them then backing out at last minute, kinda like playing chicken w/your car. Only once was I stuck. Always interesting that said item I backed out on will be in very next auction, you'd think the auction co would at least wait a while, ya, right!

I think these have been "sand blasted" but believe genuine.

On the 1978-CC I noticed the "halo" that can be seen in the pictures below. These are all counterfeit or "replica" coins that I ordered online that had a heavy false circulated wear that left a white discolored "halo" where the "false circulated wear" was. All the pictures below are fake/replicas for comparison, the Mint Mark for the 1988-O is so poorly recreated, yet I've seen this same style of mint mark on 8/10 of the counterfeits I've seen online recently, and your 1895-O seems to have a genuine style mint mark at least. This is an 1888-O and an 1888-CC both of which had the fake "gunk" removed which left a very similar white discoloration, possibly indicating the 1878-CC depicted could be counterfeit:

I think you may just see these back in the next auction. It sounds like you have stumbled into a nest of shysters. Regarding the coins, using the following photo as an example: A. The photo is in focus as demonstrated by the lettering on the 2x2. B. The date and other lettering are indistinct, and not like any genuine coin, even damaged ones. Remember, this is what this coin actually looks like, it is not just bad photography (see A above). C. MS-65, are you kidding me?
