slickbb6 New Member United States 33 Posts	Posted 04/03/2017 06:30 am I think I might see what youre talking about, but honestly the only "replies" that you're gonna get right now is that we need better pictures before anyone can give any real helpful input on your coin. If possible, pictures that maybe have a little bit more magnification, especially in those areas of the devices (Liberty, IN GOD WE, 1909) in which you think you see doubling. If that is even possible for you to do, because if it is, then we can help you out a lot more. Otherwise I really can't help ya much on confirming or denying anything other than, I'll confirm that you do for sure have a clean 1909 VDB penny- Report this Post to the Staff

dbrablec Pillar of the Community United States 1944 Posts	Posted 04/03/2017 08:46 am i am fairly sure that the 1909 VDB 1DO-002 (copper coins), has a small rotation on every example. (about 5%). i heard that was true and was a diagnostic for that doubled die. having said that - I did ask if that was true - on at least two different forums. (i never did get a completely definitive answer). yours appears to be rotated nearly 90% or so. if it is any of the 1909 doubled dies - they are very well studied and documented. there should be fairly noticable die markers to confirm yours..
