it has a shot at 65, however, the cheek hit is pretty deep and the rims are a little scratched. I think MS64 is a better grade although it has an overall eye appeal of a 65

Hey Coin and T-Bop. I was concerned about the same things. However, when I review images of this coin type on PCGS it looks as though the Left field which Coinfrog mentioned and the rim problem on the reverse between D and O which T-Bop mentioned seems typical and part of this variety. Would you agree upon review of the pics at this link? http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/147475

Upon viewing the quarter on PCGS coinfacts I find no similarity in variety to your coin . Actually it is not a variety at all .

HAHAHA....I was thinking 65 after looking at the pictures. Nailed it and I don't really know the series.

That variety in that grade should be worth a couple hundred. I found the FS-101 for that year but condition is not as good as yours (better luster on yours). These Washington quarters have problems with strike weakness on the date and the AR in Dollar. I've noticed the TPGs take off a point if these areas are flat, otherwise you'd have a 66

I disagree with PCGS saying it is MS-65. I would say at best MS-64. Still a nice coin and a cool variety!
