I recently got this late state Haxby J16d. It has die cracks at leaves 1, 9, 11, and heavy cracks and a Cud at leaves 14 and 15. Can anyone post photos of die states after state 1 (no cracks) but before this late state? Thanks in advance for any help with this. This is the same die as the repunched 5 shown in the 2011 Charlton on page 297.

A beautiful coin MG! It shows all the die cracks just prior to the Cud forming at 14 and 15. I'm still trying to figure out CV's reverse. It looks like the J16d, but there are some subtle differences that make me think it's a different reverse. The stem to leaf 9 has a little more of a smooth curve to it. The repunching on the 5 and the ball of the 5 look a little different. It looks like it has a little repunching at the top right of the 9. Maybe I've been staring at 1859's too long. Do they look different to anyone else or am I imagining things?

The 9 looks different as well as stem leaf 9 doesn't have that slight little hook into the leaf the 5 is not the same either

I also do believe that it is not the same rev. It looks like CV cent has a D/C at leaf 12 and the stem at leaf 9 is different.

I agree that your obverse is 57 CV, but I still think the reverse may be different. The die crack at the R of REGINA is very faint and looks earlier than the one on MG's coin. Could this be a new reverse (similar to J16d) paired with an earlier state of Obverse 57?
I noticed the faint die crack at leaf 12 also MG. That's what made me look harder at the rest of the coin.

It's a totally different 5 the upper part of the 5 on CV is not doubled at all but the obverse is very close its hard to see the detail in pictures

Here they are together. CV's coin. MG's coin.

if this is not J16d (and I'm starting to think it may not be), then it's a new reverse die paired with Haxby obverse 57

That's what I'm thinking too CV. I'll do some more studying on it tomorrow.
