Hello, I inherited this coin from my great-grandmother who lived in Turkey during the end of the Ottoman Empire. I believe it is a 100 Kurush gold Ottoman coin but I don't know much beyond that. Could anyone help with dates and any other relevant information? Thank you! I plan on holding on to this as a family heirloom.

Year is 1336 with a 1 equals 1918 Gregorian calendar year.
The design seems to matche the 50 Kurus and not the 100. Possibly the 500. But I would guess the 50. The weight will help determine the denomination. Do you have a gram scale?

Thanks, BigSilver! I'll change the topic name to reflect 50. I don't think it's 500 since it's not that heavy. I'll see if I can get an accurate weight to post.

I just checked on my digital kitchen scale, so I'm not sure how precise this weight is. But I got 0.2oz for the weight.

That weight is closer to the 100 than the 50.
Asssuming that your kitchen scale is in standard oz and not troy oz then the 50 should come in at about .13 and the 100 at .25 I would say that I am probably wrong about the denom. You might want to switch you title (again)... To something androgynous.
Sorry for misleading.

Numista does not have this version of the 100 kurus on their site (yet). NGC does, and it can be found here.

EDIT: I would suggest disregarding the prices listed on NGC for this coin; they seem quite messed up.

Maybe not an exact match, but it looks like this one (clearer pictures):

Thank you, BigSilver, Joseph7420 and Fuzzy317. I think it might be the one on the NGC site, since it's 7g in weight. I'm not too worried about prices since I'm holding on to this coin, but it's definitely good to have a general idea of value. Thanks for all the help!
