The lower reverse is what concerns me, since it appears reflective, so might be indicative of cleaning. The highest point of the hair also concerns me, as it may be sign of circulation.

Based on the pics your looking at a 62 - 63 at best.

The seller stated: 'Overall, I'd give this coin a very high near gem MS grade, as it really has a nice "blazer" look to it.' Which is somewhat deceptive. Also worth noting the seller doesn't offer returns.

You took a gamble. I hope it pays off for you.

I think you got toasted. That is at best a 62.

I'm trying to learn all this but, how is reflection a sign of cleaning? Isn't that what "cartwheel luster" is?

On the Morgan, I think you broke even.

MS-63. I see no signs of cleaning or wear. The big hit on the chin limits it.

Without the hard hit on the chain I think it would have been MS64. As is I agree with MS63 and thinking the lower reverse is merely artifacts of poor lighting.

Looks like a HOT-50 VAM11.

I agree with the others, this is an MS coin with no wear. The highest point on the hair is often flat or soft because of a relatively weak strike. And the bottom of the reverse looks pretty normal to me as well. Solid MS63 coin for me, but hey, I might be wrong.

From the pictures I see nothing to make me think the coin has problems. It's an Uncirculated Morgan. Plus, the 0 in the date may show an overdate (9/0 or 79/80).
