Welcome to the forum cananchavez. =) From what I can see here this is post-mint damage that coincidentally looks like an upside down 5. It's hard to tell for sure based on the pictures, but your 5 seems to be incuse, a result of this coin being hit by something else during circulation.

There are many knowledgeable folks around here (some of which may weigh in on your coin), so stick around and you're bound to learn a lot.

It looks like it took a hit, maybe a die chip right there , It is nice if you post a photo of the whole coin

It is metal displaced from a hit.

It happens all the time but it does grab your attention when the displaced metal looks like a letter or a number.
