I have this one identified as PC59-53 but the reverse is in a early die state with no die cracks and I'am having a hard time matching it to the known reverses some things just don't look right.
The Obverse looks to be in state 2 with an earlier die crack at the "V" in Victoria.
Can anyone ID this reverse for me please?

Cheers, Bill

It might be another Reverse to Obverse 5 as you mention the ones listed on the Haxby site are not this Reverse.
nice.

After second look and comparing the one I have I think it might be E7b

Hounddog Bill Here is a photo of my 5+E7b They sure look like the same reverse to me. The stem at leaf 9 and the vine at leaf 2 sure looks the same but I will let Phil310. chime in on this one!

Thanks for the response, I started second guessing myself when looking at the obverse I incorrectly determined it was in state 2 and the reverse would be E7a.
The die crack at the "V" in Victoria must have been quite small when the reverse die was changed.
Nice looking coin viper and great pictures. Is the die crack on the "V" in Victoria in the same state as mine?
Looking at the two side by side I see mine has the early stage die crack at L4 I don't see anything on yours meaning the "V" in Victoria should be quite small on your coin.

Cheers, Bill

Phil310: Where are you located? I have a large number of 1859's and Ed doesn't seem to chime in much any more. If you are close to the T.O. area, send me a PM and we'll see if you want to go through 5, 6, 700. Jim H looked through most of these a few years ago in prep for his study, and some still have his first set of numbers on them. If you are in the US, then maybe I can mail, but we should talk.

I agree with all above that it's the E7b. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've been playing with the grandchildren all day and haven't checked the forum.

okiecoiner, thanks for the kind offer! PM sent.
