Anybody have any experience buying/selling with this company? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I've never bought anything from them but I've talked with them a few times before about some prospects. Their prices don't seem to have anything in relation to "wholesale". They tend to have some pretty high end coins, but many times those coins can lack in eye appeal so be careful.

I'm not really looking at buying from them, but they say they are interested in what I have for sale. I was curious because having never sold a coin I want to make sure that I deal with someone reputable and trustworthy. I was making arrangements to get some of my coins graded and sell them on an auction site, but if I can unload these coins at close to what I would end up with at auction I might actually do it that way instead.

They're typically interested in higher end material. You might want to try boards like this one to see if anyone is interested in your material. What type of stuff are you looking at selling (Moderators: I'm trying to keep in the spirit of the thread and not turn it into a BST thread).

RCW is Steve Contursi's bunch. Reputable? I suppose so - he's gone through an original Brasher Dubloon and the King of Siam Proof Set (can you say, "1804 Dollar PCGS PR67?" I thought so). He owns a 1794 Silver Dollar. An MS61 example went for $750,000 at Heritage a couple years ago, and Steve's example is PCGS SP66. Yeah, he gets some nice stuff in his shop.

That does not mean he's going to overpay you for your coins, though.

I'm liquidating some of my gold collection, which isn't saying too much. 4 pieces all unc but on the low end of that. I want to try and get some pics this weekend and see if the folks on here can give me some grades on the 2 unslabbed ones. I told the guy on the phone that they were on the low end of uncirculated and I didn't think that fit into what they sell, but he indicated to me that they would still be very interested.

ps what's a BST thread?

Superdave, I highly doubt that they will give me what I hope to get out of these I know they need to make money. If they are close to what I want it will be a lot easier and certainly quicker to sell to them. I've never sent coins in to get graded (just got back into the hobby) so I would like to stay away from that if I can.

most of the coins are over graded and price 10% over book value.then they charge a high price in shipping.(roll of pennies cost 2.00 for shipping I seen it as high as 15.00 for a 2007 penny roll.
