Would appreciate your thoughts on grade and problems.

Particularly, I was wondering whether the lines radiating out on the coin's fields we are mint press flow lines, worn late state dies or post-mint damage. Thanks!

nice looking coin. Look like flowlines to me. XF 45 is grade guess

To me it has AU details but questionable color...... not an expert though.

agree with AU sharpness but not sure about having any luster left to get AU grade

AU sharpness, but the dark surfaces are a concern. It can't grade AU with that color. It might be a dark EF.

Very nice large cent.

First my disclaimer - I have a lot of old copper but I don't know much. That's why I love this forum and what I am learning every day.

OK, time to reveal my crazy thought about this coin. I agree that it looks AU but I'm also concerned about the dark color. When I see what some have described as flow lines is it possible that someone treated the coin with some kind of goop (not a technical term) and that's why it's dark and the goop made what appears to be the flow lines? Yikes did I just suggest that?

Guys, don't excited over this coin. The color and the surfaces are not nice. Years ago PCGS would not have graded this coin. Today, I'm not sure.
