New member to CCF and Coin collecting, well sort of. I had inherited about 5-6 coins from my Grandfather when I was about 9-10 years old. I stored and kept them all this time. Not much for monetary valued coins, but extremely sentimental valued coins to me. It was a 42 Mercury dime, 64 Kennedy half dollar , 44 Washington quarter, and a few dateless Buffalo's.
It was about a year ago I was creating an Album of personals dedicated to him, that I ran across those coins again, brought them out from storage, and began to read and research about coins and collecting. It was when I finished the album and showed my immediate family that they brought to my attention they also had coins that my Grandfather had collected. So then I had a lot of different circulated classic coin to look at and research. That's when I started to get a little temperature from both classic and modern coins.
While doing some research online I found an article about coin roll hunting for modern coins and varieties, about a few hours into the first CRH is when full on coin fever hit and I haven't looked back. I eventually ran across CCF and now I'm here learning even more. I don't have a particular rule or set or type of collection, its more like if I find it and like it I keep it. Mostly modern stuff from CRH and Dollar Bill searching for Fancy S/N, Stars, and what not.
Thanks for reading my story, and the wealth of knowledge from the friendly folks at CCF!
