I can't believe this coin is going to sell for over $200! It doesn't seem worth it to me but this is what the market dictates I guess. Comments?

I have been having a laugh at this coin, would it not be PMD. I mean it looked like it could have been cracked, but someone helped it

although a cracked planchet would be cool, this one just seems off....and for the likely $300 or so it will fetch at this rate(estimating) I can think of much more appealing coins to put my money towards..i tapped out around $20 lol.
Feel free to call me Will.

$239 Is what it sold for. I also tapped out at $20. I was surprised when it topped $60. But $239? Wow. I may have to list mine if it fetches anywhere near that price...

While I may be totally off, it looks more like a retained broken die (i.e. the smaller portion to the left looks raised vs. the larger portion to the right) to me than a cracked planchet. If it is a retained broken die, I think the selling price is justified.

If it was a retained broken die, the crack would be raised. I don't believe this crack is raised. It doesn't look it to me.

Looks like struck on a cracked planchet, whether it's worth 100 or 300 bucks is the greatness of auctions, all you need is two bidders

I don't like the marks on the reverse rim (of the auction coin)...looks like someone grabbed it with pliers...

And the way the light is reflected on the reverse means that it is bent...so it got a helping hand to open up the crack and make it more dramatic. Pretty steep price for a damaged coin.

Rob I love yours, the one that was for auction I tapped out early on because it is a crack with PMD help. Yours on the other hand is natural and has me drooling!

Plus mine has the crack right through the entire planchet, not just on one side. Thanks!
