There is a 2017 Double Struck Toonie on ebay, lack computer skills to link, kind of cool but the asking price is a bit reaching.

Probably just to get attention for the coin. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much. It is against ebay Policy though. "The starting, reserve or BIN price is less than $2500.00."

Probably just to get attention for the coin. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much. JimmyD and other members in this post I'm an auctioneer and the first thing they teach you in Auctioneer School is to give your item a value$$. The $20,000 gives that ebay item a value and you have to expect to pay more for it. When you search ebay by highest priced Canadian Coins that ebay listing should show up reaching some high end potential buyers. If I would have started this listing at $1.00 it would have gone totally unnoticed. A great amount of time went into creating the profile you see on ebay. Trust me Heritage Auctions wouldn't have done this for the potential buyers. I was very clear stating this e-bay listing is open to all offers regardless of values, and it will be sold. Reaching out to the right buyers with good pictures, publiccations and adds is just good marketing!!

Hey Terry, have you considered sending a note to the Twoonie man himself? I suspect his offer might be the best one you will get.

Just my small opinion, the coin is cool, probably unique but due to how toonies are created only the the outer ring received the flip over strike, lacks the eye appeal but I hope you get your max dollars for it.

I would rank it as worth being about the same as a townie struck on all nickel blank (~$800 to $1200). While it is unique, errors are all about eye-appeal and wow-factor, and this error is not worth as much as a two dollar struck on a loon planchet (~$2000).

looks like only the ring was double struck, but if that's the case, the ring would have restricted in the middle from pressure therefore impossible to accept the core without damage showing if at all. Intriguing.
Can you see any hint on the core that it was also double struck? I can't. Is there edge lettering?

If one was to create a flip strike like the 67 dollars, the coin would have had a nice rotation with correct pressure and a cool core flip strike, because of this I think it's an one off natural strike
