Omg I spent seriously 24 plus hours sorting all the nickles From moms piggy jar and about 2 bank rolls got about 7 silver from moms. Went to grogery store got 3 silver picked up another roll from grocer got 1 silver and a 2000 semi uncirulated.I have been unlucky in finding doubling So I now plan to hit boyfriends nickel jar this weekend. I have 4 rolls to replace ones I take. Didn't do that for the quarters, dimes, or pennies. That time I was taking all the dates that were listed one Wexlers die varieties (Brians). Like I said in the beginning 24 hours sorting dates putting them in piles finding possible errors labeling that finding the best quality and placing in coin roll. Its a lot of work so I'm for sure going for 1964 and earlier plus nickles in good conditions. So I ask anyone if there is a certain date I should look out for. I saw some nickel where he doesn't have a neck don't know what year that is. Sorry for the long story Thanks if you did read all of this. I probably won't be able to respond back I have cataract surgery tomorrow don't know how my eyes will be for awhile but hey maybe I might be able to distinguish double die letting. That reminds me maybe someone can post the same year of a coin tgatvis doubling and not. I have safed a bunch of nickels possibly doubling

Some of the most promising years/MM's are in the silver War Nickels and not because they are 35% silver. If you don't have it yet, I suggest getting a Red Book. Even the current spiral-bound version is cheap considering the amount of information it contains.

to the family! Save pre 1960 ones an especially the 2009-P, the 2009-D too, both are hard to come by. Of the pre60's there are 5 key dates, 38D, 38S, 39D, 39S & 50D. The 47S & 49S can be hard to find also. The 39P DDR is one too. And of course my favorites, the RPM's.

Just to make sure... silver jeffersons are only the 1942 - 1945 coins with the large mint mark on the reverse above the dome. Pre-1965 are not silver like dimes/quarters/halfs. Finding 7 in a piggy bank sounded like a lot, so I want to make sure you understand the difference.

Hello again Desiree. I'm glad you made it to the modern coin section and picked a denomination to specialize in! Good luck with the surgery tomorrow!
The people that responded before me gave you pretty much all the information there is. Brian's variety coins from the Wexler page is THE nickel resource, so I'm glad you already know of that. People are telling you to save the 2009 coins because those coins seem hard to find in all denominations.

Cataract surgery went fine Thanks I didn't come across 2009 nickels but I do have a bunch of 2000S ro ho thru. Thanks for setting me straight for silver dates on nickels. Can someone please post nickles comparing a doubles die of Liberty against one that is not. I probably will post some of my nickles that could be promising and would love to receive feedback. I have a nickel that has a raised line on the bldg
