I can see why they are seldom found - I can't even see the doubling (but that is not saying a lot). On this variety what led you to being able to spot it. Was it the ability to see the Secondary 93 of Date?

Yea, don't usually find that unless in high grades, looked for that one a lot. Congrats!  |

All that could be seen in the sellers pic was a tiny dot below the 4. Because of the lighting angle the rest of the doubling didnt show. I have been looking for this one for close to 20 years so that dot and markers were rather conclusive

I had to look at the link to see it, then realized it wasn't the devices that were doubled. Nice find.  Edited by coop

John , they are expensive but a rare find and though weakly struck , this die has the distinction of being the widest spread doubled die of the entire 108 year series.
