Another CRH find.

My 1st ancient LMC find!

This die should've been retired long before it struck this coin...A Lot of die wear

The "1" in the Date is gone, the rest of the date isn't much better, and the "Y" in liberty is just about gone.

Hey, its a Bert coin, now to find the Ernie issue!

Mont, know what's sad, it could well be the 1974S-1MM-001, placement and shape look right(closed upper serif), even the direction of die scratch matches...but yours is VLDS, any obverse marker is polished off and reverse die may be different also.

The top of the mint mark is showing slight MD on the tops of these devices. But the RPM would be on the bottom of the mint mark.

The missing parts of the date look more like a partial Grease Fill die issue.

I looked at that...but it looks like the MM on my coin is tilted and the one on 001 looks to be straight up an down.

Doh! Just noticed how flat and wide the rest of the numbers in the date are. I think you are right. Thanks coop!

It is a common mistake. A lot of newer ones focus on just one device and miss the point that other areas can/should also be affected the same. You'll figure it out in time. Just keep on looking and asking questions. Assumptions can lead you down a wrong path. When traveling it is better if your lost, to get correction of the right direction sooner in your journey. Less distance to make it back to where you should be.
