I'm trying out a new ring light that rocky discovered...the angel eyes 50mm. Of course the whole ring light is not useful for full-coin imaging, so I have masked it down to a couple "smiles". Here is the result on a toned 43-D Lincoln:

Fantastic image!
Do you mean this type of ring light.
I've been thinking about buying one of these and trying it.

pocketchange2 the light ray is referring to. this light is called cobb angel eye. these lights are add on to car head lights. these lights run on a 12 volts power supply. I built a dimmer switch. so these lights work really great with nickel coins. the smaller ring light works great with microscope objectives. I have now found even quadrupling on coins using these.
