I don't know about others, but I'm well & truly over all the hype with the coloured coins plus any NCLT stuff the RAM is coming up with.

These coloured $2 coins are becoming a bit "Meh" now the novelty has worn off. There is also the way these have been distributed to RAM's pet dealers first so that they can make huge mark ups on them before they are released into general circulation to consider as well.

The lack of interest in this coin with collectors is a stand out at present. Basically no info with a search on-line does say a lot about collectors no longer interested. Have turned away from this type of collecting as well. Yes the pet dealers get all things their way alright with rolls and other items as well. Not a good business plan to make the masses feel left out of the loop. Why are some collectors able to buy more 5 coin x bags than the mint allotted number of 3 bags per person? Was hoping to find out how many of these $2 coins have been minted. So as to see if The Royal Mint is getting greedy.

Nobody is talking about this new $2 release? There's been a big discussion on the Australian Coin Forum, but unless you're a member of it, you'd be completely unaware of its existence. Most of us have said everything we want to say, and are ready to move on. Quote: Why are some collectors able to buy more 5 coin x bags than the mint allotted number of 3 bags per person? The limit is 3 bags per order, not 3 bags per person. Thus, some people are making multiple orders of 3 bags each, and this is completely within the rules. Quote: Was hoping to find out how many of these $2 coins have been minted. According to RAM, the mintmarked coin has a mintage of 40,000, and according to Ten Eyewitness News, the circulating coin has a mintage of 4 million. I hope this helps.

I'm always glad to see a new coin come into general circulation as that's how I collect ... looking through change and noodling ... gives me one more coin to look for ... it's all about the hunt!

I'm obsessed with the new coloured $2 coin, although I can understand why other collectors are sick of them, especially after the Woollies debacle. However, until they started adding colour to them, $2 coins were clearly the most boring coins to noodle, so I really appreciate having that additional incentive to noodle them. Nothing beats finding a coloured coin amongst hundreds of other coins that all have the exact same boring design.

Thought I was doing alright at that forum and then I got onto a thread that talked about using stamps for mailing that have been through the mail but never got canceled. Replied with a break down of kiloware(stamps on paper) and was told by a member I was trying to sell stamps on that forum you mentioned then I could no longer log on and with no explanation. This lasted about 4 months. I could not log on and was not allowed to contact the forum adim. Put a thread up here to do a bit of fly fishing so to speak and was back on that forum with in 15 mins of posting that thread. That thread is no longer alive. Sadly the pack mentality is strong on that forum I do not do well in those types of environments so I will not be back. This forum and the other one suit me just fine. Am a member of 6 forums and am very happy.

If your talking about the Australian Coin Forum give it another go as its very mild compared to the specialist Forums I've posted on for the last 20 years. There will always be someone in a bad mood looking for an argument, that's life,or someone that's had a long lunch and posting drivel. Coin Forums seem to polarise more than Stamp Forums for some reason but don't take negative Posts to heart, just move onto the next subject.

Yes that is a good point Basil.
But I was banned from entry to that forum and unable to contact adim for 4 months. If that was done to you how would you like that?
I see this forum here as one of the best forums I have ever been apart of.
There are 2 Australian forums that I will not have anything to do with. There is stamp forum & a coin forum. The 6 forum I am a member of are up front and on track. Why would anyone support a closed forum. What are they trying to hide? That forum does very little to support coin collecting by not letting the coin community search their threads.Dead in the water forum approach. This is a big issue and I will not support that type of forum.
This does not fit your explanation about that forum. It looks like Australian forums have a lot of negative issues attached to them like very bad manners.IMO

The security bags are up on ebay well and truly now. No sign of single standard $2 lest we forget coins on offer from the mint. How is the best way to get a high graded $2 coin mentioned here. Security bags, mint rolls or 5 coin mint bags?
