I've been collecting Dutch provincial coins, and I have many already: Utrecht, Holland, Deventer, Kampen, and others.
I'm trying to find reputable coin dealers to purchase the ones I don't have, but I can't seem to find any dealers online. Anyone have any suggestions?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask.

Stan, have you tried looking on vcoins marketplace? There is general agreement among folk who hang out in the ancients section of CCF that their dealers are above board.

Thanks, Spence. Found something interesting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/32247185334....m1436.l2649Problem is, I can't find this in my 17th century KM catalog. Anyone who under what entry it may be? Trying to figure out if the price is reasonable. Any thoughts?

Stan, I'm not very familiar with copper klippe, but I was thinking that they were mostly Swedish. Maybe someone else here has more experience and will weigh in?

You'll find it in the 17th century Krause as Netherlands - Staats-Brabant - Breda KM#2

Thanks, bart! Looks like I have an older edition of the catalog, but the 5th edition has the coin exactly as described. Extra fine is valued at $400. So the eBayer seller is overpricing, but I wonder if it's one of those where the selling price is high, but the market is so slim that you can ask more than what it's worth just because of that?

It's expensive. You see these regularly at Dutch auctions (at least several time a year, MPO/Heritage auctions Europe has two of them in their upcoming auction). Most are of a lesser quality as that one, but they tend to sell for less than half the price. The most expensive I could find was this one: https://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?...&lot=1112547 AU55 which sold for 250 euro (+fees). If you're into higher end Dutch provincial coins (welcome to the club! Interesting field to collect!) I'd recommend to start with looking at some Dutch auctions (ww.npv.nl has one in a few weeks, http://www.MPO.nl has a very big one (more than 1000 Dutch provincial coins) in a few weeks, in June http://www.schulman.nl and http://www.aamuntenveiling.nl). ebay has a lot of overpriced stuff, at an auction you're more likely to get a reasonable price (even there's of course still enough stuff selling for too much). And an auction house will guarantee that the coin is not a fake, which you don't have on ebay.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone. Would somewhere around $350 be reasonable? I agree that $595 is absurd, but would $350 be a reasonable asking price?
