1943 Steel Penny With Copperish Color

I found 3 1943 pennies one with s mint mark other 2 have none they appear to be steelies but have this copperish color are they by chance a error or one the ones made with wrong medal inknoe there we 're some some copper which these don't appear also some brass any ideas if these are more then just a normal steelie

The leftmost one appears to have at once been plated, but the plating was worn off.

Rust. Zinc coating wears off, exposing steel to air and moisture.

Looks like they were copper plated at one time , now plating has worn off .

Sometimes people clean Steel cents along with copper cents and the metals transfer a bit from one surface to another. But it is a thin layer and will wear off like the example above.
