Recently inherited my grandpas coin collection, it's going to take months to sort and cherry pick them... watching YouTube videos while sorting helps pass the time. Going through these coins reminds me of coin collecting in my teenage years... but I've been out of the scene for quite a while. I also found that grandpa used to stash old paper money around the house, and it made me want to do a little of the same... Out of mild curiosity of wanting some $2 bills just for fun, I asked my bank if they had any... the teller said they had a wrap, so I bought it. I noticed the serial number and thought it was kind of cool... 2013 series L24000001A through L24000100A... so I started researching and came across "fancy serial numbers"... just wondering what I may have stumbled into... this was 2 days ago. Been watching YouTube vids, checking ebay, and then found this forum to help me in my research. What do you guys think? Thanks! Great find on the $2 pack. I don't collect the round things but wish you best of luck with finding really great treasures. Oh, if you decide to part with some of the $2 send me an email. Have a friend who collects bills with serial number ending with 61; and I collect radar notes so of course the L24000042A is of interest.

Not sure if the 24 million +1 is good... there's trinaries with the 02, and 04... bookends with the 24... radar with 42... kinda cool even ladder with the 68...
It's got me curious, and hooked on looking for fancy numbers now!
Wondering if any grading might be in order... sell em as a set... sell em as singles... use them for circulation... or just throw em in the safe and forget about them...

I think your best bill in there is going to be the 240000042 and the second best one will be 240000024. They should bring a premium on ebay. The rest will have little to no premium, but are still cool.

Are those two "best bills" worthy of needing grading?
Would the value of the whole thing as a set outweigh the value of breaking the band and separating them? Would separating them into 10 bill sets make any sense? Still learning the basics here, and happy to have gotten these examples in a uncirculated pack. ;-)

Grading - No. Keeping it as a pack- depends if you plan to sell on ebay. I would guess that having to pay ebay fees on the remainder of the pack would make it not worth your while. That's my opinion.

Are newer bills typically worth grading? Or does that just pertain to super fancy serial numbers? If the decision was to hold onto the set for the "great great grandkids" would it be best to try to keep the bep wrap on it, separate it into some kind of protective album... or what? (I'm not sure of other options) Would a good/bad set of this caliber of fancy numbers not warrant long term storage? What kinds of numbers might I expect on ebay for the good radar and bookends vs the rest of the stack? All in all, it's been a fun adventure the last few days, and I'm definitely hooked on trying to find something better... what denomination would be the best overall for quick turnaround to start hunting?

B/S/T... is that Buy/Sell/Trade rules?
I wasn't looking to sell, just asking opinions... I'll have to research the rules a little more thouroughly anyways... I was just trying to add a little backstory... and the bills I'm questioning have nothing to do with my recent acquisition of a coin collection.
Sorry if the beginning of my first post came across as a typical scammer start thread. Lol. Wasn't my intention. I was just curious about some interesting $2 bills I happened to come across... especially after seeing a market for special serial numbers that I've overlooked until now.

I'm still curious if my $2 set will hold more value as a $200 wrapped pack, or if I just need to place each into its own protective holder...
What would you guys do with what I've found?
This is my very first venture into serial number hunting, which happened completely by accident. For now, or at least a while, I plan to hold onto them and want to protect and store them properly.

How do you guys store your bills, or wraps of bills?
