They look like those oversized novelty coins. I actually bought a couple in high school during a trip to D.C. I still have the '64 Kennedy.

Coaster sized novelties. They sell for a couple to five bucks depending who is selling it.
I have the 1985 Jefferson handy. It isn't a bad representation but some of those are outright ugly in my opinion.

Die cast, plated they also come in plastic the metal ones are used in some magic tricks
