Here's a piece I spotted recently at specialist club show. How do you think it grades?

Looks like unc details - cleaned. Unless that is a rub on the eagles head under the eye. AU details if it is.

The fine lines are admittedly unattractive and it is difficult to tell if what I'm seeing is friction. I'm gonna say AU-58. Possibly details.

With these pictures, it looks like it was wiped. If not in a details holder, I's say au-58. If in a details holder I'd say UNC details cleaned.

according to these pics the hairlines are crossing over the devices which leads me to believe they are die polish lines. I'm going with AU58 straight grade

I would have guessed MS62 these days. Far worse cleanings make it into problem-free holders. Not that they should but they do.

Yep, this is a totally down and dirty counterfeit. Sorry, I did not want to make a fool of anyone. I wanted to show you how good the counterfeiters have gotten. The obverse of this piece was copied from an 1872 Philadelphia Mint coin. The reverse, as I have heard, is from an 1871-S Half Dollar. I would have fooled by this because I would not have known about the reverse.
ANACS called this piece genuine and improperly cleaned. It's another example of the crooks intentionally cleaning up a coin to get it into a "genuine" holder.

Thanks for the clarification, Heymikep. I have never collected Liberty Seated material beyond the type coins.
