Yeah that is different and they usually seem to travel on a long diagonal path. Don't know what that it, but really interesting. On the D in united is there a mark on top of the D? With the spacing there should be one in that area; if not on top the under the D then indicating die gouges possibly. I'll be checking back to see what the others are saying.

I have never seen FF damage like that so I don't think that's it. I really like the look of it Earl. Nice find. If I found it I would put it in a 2x2.

It looks pretty neat. I'm finding a bunch of them like this in a box I picked up at the bank.
