Issued by the Tegernsee District. Tegernsee is a small Bavarian town (even today, its population remains under 4,000) situated by a lake of the same name. Starting in the early 19th century, the Bavarian royal family made their summer residence there.
German notgeld are some of the prettiest and well designed notes in the world in my opinion. Look at the imagery on these 3 notes dating from 1918 and issued in Uberlingen.....
.....and what about this example too? It's a fantastic looking note..made of silk and issued by the Bielefeld Town Savings Bank.
