Most of the time when I identify which one is Japanese which one is Chinese is that Chinese characters are more complicated and complex and Japanese characters are more simple, as to what I know some Chinese character might be same in Japanese but just different meanings

Nowadays both Chinese and the kangji in Japanese use the same simplified Chinese characters. This 10 yen coin says its from Showa 49 which, as Joseph7420 is 1974.
