I don't think there is a set percentage that a fingerprinted coin is valued compared to one not fingerprinted. I will tell you it is a lot. I would not want one in my collection, so when asking me, I'd say it devalues it to the face value or the bullion value, if any. Now, if it is a very rare coin, I still wouldn't want it but others might.

Unfortunately finger prints are unattractive and troublesome, they do bring down the value of any collectible coin drastically, I would not want one in my collection either!

@CO, if you use the CCF search function on the upper left hand corner with the keyword 'fingerprint', you will find lots of threads discussing how unhappy they are that their proof or uncirculated coins have fingerprints on them. I think that you will find that sentiment to be widespread.

This is something I'm interested too. I think I'll need to go to an appraiser but with some of my coins they seems to be right on the line between grades. Is there any standard way of appraising it yourself. I'm new here so I'll appreciate any help.
