Thought on grade and problems? TPG in 48. Thanks! It is the small date.

AU details. From my experience, coppers toned black are never a good sign. The red poking through on the reverse looks more like residual color from a dip than mint luster.
But I could be wrong, though that does not guarantee that NGC is right.

AU details, somewhat questionable color. There is definitely wear (look at the top of the head and above the ear!!) Nice recutting on the last 6 in the date. If in a straight holder, TPG probably said either AU58 or MS62 (especially likely MS62 if it's NGC) My EAC grade 45 sharpness net 40 - small nicks in front of face/on cheek, and uneven color; slight roughness near the rim below the date area and throughout the fields on the lower and mid obverse. Strike is average (6/13 stars are full struck.) Overall, a decent Braided Hair cent in a slightly tougher date.

Thought this was nice for the grade, but the price floated above wholesale and I let it go.
