Did you buy them as proofs or to stack silver? If the latter and they were purchased at a good price, the spots won't matter. Otherwise send them back, in my generally inexpert opinion.

Lyle!

I'd just keep them if it were me. "BU" ASE's are not all perfect.

If you bought them near spot and are willing to sell them on near spot at a later date, keep 'em.

I think it largely depends on the circumstances. You need to provide more information. Am I correct to assume that you bought them sight unseen? Who did you buy them from, a major bullion reseller or an individual? Did you buy them as new out of the tube or impaired? Do they have different dates for a collection or are they for stacking silver? Is there any other information you can provide?

I'm pretty OCD. If it was me, I'd send them back for a refund/exchange as long as you don't have to pay the shipping.

Bought them from provident for my stack. I've decided to keep them because I'd have to pay the return shipping & also, provident judges whether you can exchange them. You have to them pics of each coin &mthen they decide which one you can return. I've now read three other posts of people with similar problems with on sale items from provident. Sounds like they're pulling out all the less than perfect coins, which are technically still bu & throwing those up for sale when dips happen. Shady.

I've never purchased from them but, you have to ask yourself," Why is an ASE 'on sale?'"

I found this listing for "Off Quality" ASEs that is out of stock:

https://www.providentmetals.com/off...-choice.html

They weren't purchased through that, were they? If not, you deserve true BU coins and I don't think those obvious spots are acceptable no matter your reason for purchasing.

I would be disappointed as well. That's my four Half Cents.

Lylelovett666, did Provident tell you that you'd have to pay shipping back to them? The reason that I ask is that JM Bullion sent me a prepaid shipping label to return a blemished 5oz ATB to them. I also recently received one that had a cracked capsule. They offered for me to return it at their expense or send another capsule if they could find one. I elected the latter and the lady I spoke with called me back the next day to let me know that they found a capsule. She even called me back a few days later to make sure that I had received the replacement capsule. The point here is that since JM was so good about returning blemished coins, Provident might be too since they compete against each other.

My experience with provident was mostly good until I wanted to exchange some coins that had flaws......

I'd call and argue for a return label. To me, those are impaired. If they refuse, post some bad reviews with pictures.

They made it clear that I'd have to pay shipping for the return, but I just couldn't live with ASE in that condition. It only added .50 each to the price of them. Seemed like a good move for piece of mind.
