Hey As I am sitting here with the usual mind numbing sinus headache ( I am a wheat miller) I was wondering do you have a certain coin you are Obsessed with? Or a specific year of minting? Personally I am a little obsessed with my Morgan dollar which almost never leaves my hand, even at work it's there if I need to use 2 hands I pop it in my mouth weird yes but EVERYONE know this and regularly asks to see it. Morgans are my weakness

That is quite a coin! Don't think I will ever be able to afford one, but it makes you think, who handled that coin, what was bought with it the journey of it in much simpler times! When money was money and not a token of guarantee

I have a philio problem with St Gaudens Double Eagles. Arguably the best design for a gold coin since the invention of coinage 2,500 years ago.

No, the coins I'm obsessed with are the ones I DON'T have.

Conder Quote: No, the coins I'm obsessed with are the ones I DON'T have. That's me too. However, I gotta go and sign out of CCF. The Jefferson nickel Anonymous meeting is starting in a few minutes and I'll probably be late because I was licking my screen when I scrolled down and saw spruett001's black beauty. All nice coins so far. Right now I am obsessed with acquiring a number of modern commemoratives and a 1934 Texas Half Dollar. The Star Spangled Banner proof will most likely be next or an Unc Founding Father Franklin.

When you are a world type collector, there is not much point in getting bent out of shape over one particular coin, since there are so many possibilities and opportunities for new surprises. I am, however, currently obsessing a bit over this little gem, a new acquisition that adds another to my OFEC pursuit. It's an obscure minor from a short-lived occupation, of which the entire series consists of a mere nine coins from two years of issue; all of them low mintage, typically expensive, and difficult to find in any condition.

Nothing really does it for me quite like this Caracalla denarius: It was random chance that I had the opportunity to buy it, and I had no idea what I was really buying when I did. I love Roman coins for their lifelike portraits of people who died over 1,800 years ago, but this one is the next best thing to owning a cameo gem or a marble bust.

Well that didn't take long. Earlier today I posted that I had been obsessed with modern commemorative coins and my next would be either a Star Spangled Proof or a BU Franklin Founding Father dollar. Very excited to have won it at a very good price. Just bought this MS70 slabber. My first and only proof or uncirculated 70 graded coin.

This coin has something special about it that draws me to it. The coin has a story that a 12 year old girl in the late 1940's found the coin in a milk crate. She kept the coin for 70 years and recently sold the coin to a dealer and I purchased the coin from the dealer. I do not ever plan on selling this coin.
