Are you sure it is a woody? I don't like the eye appeal. John1

Quote: Are you sure it is a woody? I don't like the eye appeal. Thanks John - no I am not sure - that is why I placed Woody in quotes. I don't know what else to call it. If it is not an improper alloy mix, I don't know what it is! Any ideas on that?

Looks more like a parking lot coin.

At first glance I said it isn't a woodie. Same second, third and forth! Those marks appear raised, like something brushed on, a gilding type paint perhaps or some application of a chemical?

Yes, this coin looks like it has been steamrolled by something.

Looks like a case of road rash...
But reminds me of a cent I saw recently that looked like someone tried to sand down..

I believe it to be a straight-up woodie.
Improper mix? Absolutely!

It's definitely a Woody, from an improper alloy mix. It goes all the way through. You can see the lines match up on both sides. Nice coloring! Just like real wood. Even with the damage, I'd call it a keeper. Nice find.
