I saw this post (link below) from 2011 & didn't know if a 2001s Wide AM Lincoln CAM Proof is normal.

Sorry my pic's are terrible. I shake and the coin is still in the proof set case & unfortunately the case has some scratches. I know you can't tell in these pics but the FG also has a gap.

You're using conflicting terms with Wide AM ( WAM) and CAM ( Close AM).

The 2001 proof cents should be Wide AM and yours is, so it is normal. Business strikes in this time (after 1992) should be Close AM.

You may be confusing CAM meaning "cameo" (as that proof should be) and meaning "Close AM."

Geez, I'm confusing myself and don't know if all of that is correct.

Edit: to try and sort out the valuable varieties, I'll post this list of known examples:

1992 Business-strike Close AM
1998-2000 Business-strike Wide AM
1998-1999 Proof-strike Close AM

The purported 1996 WAM doesn't exist, it was never examined by anyone other than the "discoverer" and then he claimed it was "stolen". The only reasonable explanation is that it was a hoax.

I feel the 1996 WAM was an altered coin. Soon after it was reported, then it disappeared (stolen). So I doubt the real thing ever existed. Probably a Magicians coin with a WAM reverse and a different obverse added to the coin. (my opinion) If it were real more would have been found. So far no others have been found.
