Hi please can anyone confirm if this is war medal? It weights 6.01 grams and is about 24mm in diameter. It this real or a fake?

I took this medal/coin to a coin dealer today, he thinks it a copy of a coin and is made of nickel. I am not sure he's right, it looks and sounds like silver and is not magnetic.

I have practically no experience in determine the authenticity of coins, so I cannot make a call on that, but there are a variety of different tests that can be done to see if a coin is silver. The ice test and tissue test come to my mind first, but I am not really sure what those tests are or how they work. I am also not sure how reliable any tests are, so hopefully someone else will jump in and explain them.

And a picture of the edge may also help determine if the coin is a counterfeit.

EDIT: And by coin I mean medal.

Thanks for the reply joseph7420. I tried both test. Ice melted straightaway and tissue test indicates it's silver.

I've attached a picture of the side

There is no seam running across the edge, so that is a good sign. It passed the silver tests and nothing about the devises stands out as being counterfeit—both being equaly as good signs. Did the dealer you brought this medal to say why he thought it was a copy? To my untrained eye, I would think this is a real medal.
