Hello,
This is my first post so advice about formatting and other stuff would be appreciated. I came across this penny while doing a penny press demonstration for my Boy Scout troop. This came out of the roll and I was very surprised. I am not sure what this would be (not at all experience with proofs) and any help with identification/grading/pricing would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help

Took the liberty to modify

to the forum. First off nice roll Find! A 1909 proof will have rims squared off where connects to field...a business strike is rounded there. Yours appears rounded, but in exceptional condition. I would put it in a 2x2 quick and stop the munchkins from handling it! Looks like an AU58 or MS60BN, a very high grade coin!

To the CCF ... you came to the proper place for truly expert advise.

with Crazyb0 analysis and recommendation ... nice coin worth preserving but NOT a Proof strike.

Although the rims suggest not, here is a link to a discussion with pertinent information about the die markers, and to CCF!

Incredible roll find, I'd guess a value of $15-$20.

That is a nice 1909-VDB. It is not a proof however.

Here's a close-up image of the reverse.

Not a proof, but I'd say it has been cleaned, possibly lightly polished.
