Hi, found this beauty coin hunting at the bank today, I also found a 2001 No P Nickel(pretty rough condition) Is the 2000p worth getting certified? I'm thinking it might be MS+ Here's a couple pictures with a 8MP phone camera

Hard to tell grade with those small pictures, but unless it graded a MS66, (Which I doubt it would) it would cost more to get graded than what it is worth.

They only made 5 million P coins in 2000 and they were only test coins from what I've read, they were supposed to be returned to the bank, so it's a rare coin regardless of the MS number.

If I were to get a coin certified today, say a MS-65 silver 1968 Nickel in 2017 and keep it for say 40-50 years.(I'm 27). If I wanted to sell the coin when I'm old, would I have to get it certified again?

I wouldn't call 5 Million minted as rare. I'm sure there were many that weren't returned.
According to Coins and Canada- Values of 2000P Certified Coins are: MS60-40c, MS62-$1.15, MS63-$3.30, MS64-$8.00, MS65-$24.10, MS66-$210..00

no you wouldn't have to get it re-certified. But it won't appreciate much in value IMO

I believe that the nickels were intended for circulation. The dime and quarter were made for testing only and the 50 cent coin was gifted in desk top clock sets only.

It would be hard to balance the grading cost and the value.

Even is there were a million or less minted/circulated, there is certainly less than 10,000 collectors, so the coin will never be rare or even scarce. The cost to certify it would be vastly more than it would ever be worth.
