Hi All I am thinking this would grade MS 64.
What do you think? Thanks

It probably won't go MS64. With booming luster and excellent color it might grade MS64 but the images don't indicate 64 and this date is tough above 63 too. It actually might grade AU58.

$20 Libs can't really be graded by contact marks. Color, luster and eye appeal carry more weight, a lot more.

Remember that although Double Eagles were officially made for circulation, scarcely did so.
That means that most of them should turn up in much higher grades, relative to the silver and bronze coins of equivalent dates. Some good luster should be expected.

Low MS grades are common for Double Eagles.
Gold is soft, and with such a large and heavy coin, MS65 and above grades are quite scarce. Catalog pricing reflects this.

I am thinking MS61 or 2 for this one.

That still makes it a rather desirable coin.
Rest in Peace

I'm not seeing indications of circulation, but the number and positions of the bag marks and slides would probably keep this down around 62.

I think MS-62 might be about right for this one. The coin has marks or a slight rub in the fields which take it our of the Choice Mint State class.

I'm thinking MS-63/4 but this is my first attempt at grading this series.

My dad's friend sent one in just like this to PCGS. It came back UNC details, cleaned because of some hairlines above the head. I see the same anomaly on your coin.

Both of those are MS without a doubt. The op coin has far too much friction and rub on Liberty's face and fields I believe for an MS grade.
