I had this coin checked out and they said it could be an error although the 4 appears to be an open 4 which doesn't exist any Help is appreciated.

Thanks Buddy. Yeah to good to be true:) even if it was a real 1943 s beat up:) The coin shop did a magnet test and was like it looks like it's an error coin.

People used to aspire to collecting the finest example of a coin they could afford.
Then people started collecting coins that had major errors like the 1955 doubled die cent because they were rare.
Then people started collecting minor errors like coins with Cuds or die cracks.
Then people started collecting the worst coins that they could get a grading company to grade like P01.
Maybe next people will start collecting beat up, dinged up, damaged coins.

I will tell you, the coin pictured is UNIQUE - there is only one of them exactly like it in the entire world!
