Not sure what to call this 1955D. It appears to not have a fully visible rim. Planchet weighs 3.1, and seems slightly either out of round(don't think so) or just two hairs shy of being normal size, I mean literally 2 hairs, minute. Thought at first was a thin planchet, but weight is on high side of 3.1, wants to peg 3.2(can't read 100ths.). Strike seems OK, details are full and have depth. Edge seems "pushed outwards" when viewing can see inward dimpling at center of planchet, upper/lower surface movement to edgeward. So what caused this, small diameter, thin planchet, out of collar? No, not filed down, beaten by Little Johnny in the garage with the hammer, no marks or evidence of PMD.

Saw one at an antiques shop for $4.00
It's really just considered rim damage, nothing to demand a premium I think.

This came from BBHing...(bulk bag hunting) from years ago. Just saw it in my album unlabeled. So, guess you can say "found it in the wild."

No that is a completely different thing. A coin in a bezel doesn't damage the rime like and encasement does.
