I have no real idea what this thing is worth. Must be worth what I paid for it but I thought it was neat not being a more flat example off center struck coin. It is also a nostalgic year for me in coins. I remember back in 1982 and 1983 a group of us would get together and go through new mint sealed bags of these years looking for errors. Clips and blank planchets were the most common found, an occasional broadstrike and maybe an off center. These were good years for bag searches. It was back then I saw my first elliptical clip and saddlestrikes and the mickey mouse multiple strikes that were found by my group members. So I bought this mainly for the year as I have none of those coins I had back then. I did not have a significant off center either in my tiny little error collection of Jefferson nickels so I'll add this to my broadstrike and clipped and whatever else I have in that box with my varieties. Here it is ...

Very nice! I'm also looking to add some Jefferson errors. I think broadstrike and off-center are at the top of my list. Quote: Must be worth what I paid for it Makes sense to me.

Looks very much like it got hung up on the collar, stretched a bit? Wasn't fully seated, almost became a die cap!

Great pick-up. Maybe a new avatar pic for you?

I was the first one to bid on that one. I just through out a small bid thinking I'd come back later. You got a great deal. The pictures are pretty good but I'm willing to bet it looks better in hand. Congrats on a nice one, at a great price

jasper ... sorry about winning Naw, I'll stick with my 1971 No S avatar. When this arrives, I'll make a group picture of my small error Jeffersons collection.

I looked at my nickel error coins. This one joined the other three. This looked better today than those images in the listing. I can't get the image of the Indiana Jones movie and being served monkey brains tho out of my head. The only others I have are a nice centered broadstrike, a triple clipped Jefferson and a single clipped Jefferson. So I only have 4 errors in Jeffersons but that doesn't count my varieties of which I am sitting pretty well with. Just don't have images of the 4 errors yet. I think I'll chase down a Cud and call it a day.
