1817 Half Dollar, Grade Opinions And Value Assessment Please. I Think O-111

I picked up this beautiful coin yesterday. I think that I have identified this correctly as O-111, but I can't see any difference between 111 and 111a so I cannot say for sure. They both share a very interesting characteristic. There is a perfect dot in the center of the coin - very prominent. Also a long mark (gouge?) protruding downward form the hair behind Liberty's head. The close ups give no frame of reference as far as location goes, but I think they should be visible in the main pics.
Either way, take that into account when grading, that those markings are not post mint. They are die marks.

I had it as a VF as well. The dealer had it marked XF and I called him out and said VF to me.
Curious why you think that it is cleaned. I looked at a few other certified VF examples and the color looks the exact same.

xf-40 but unfortunately its been cleaned. The hairlines are very noticeable.

For 200 years old it has held up very well. VF 30 market acceptable.

Several hairlines are visible, and there is a dark halo around the devices from where the original patina was not completely stripped.
