I have a 1819 2 kopek, EM/HM coin.

Confused-By-This-Russian-Coin-2-Kopek,-1819

The world coin book lists two varieties of this coin, with one being 24mm (1810-1830) and the other 29mm (1810-1814). The 1819 EM/HM is listed only as being 24mm, yet the one I have is 29mm. What am I missing?

How about an error or typo in the catalogs? There's no shortage of them.
Numista shows 29mm.

Numista isn't showing that. The date at the top is an aggregate of the varieties, go down to the list of dates and you'll see that the only 1819 EM HM listed is variety c#118.3, the 24 mm one.

I can't see where the catalog shows the modules differences, for c#118.3 says Type3 eagle but not mentions about size.
The photos size may not be exact.

Yeah, the catalog pic is way too dark for me to tell the supposed difference between the eagles.

I did some better digging around and found that catawiki lists 118.3 coins as 29mm/13.65g, so you're probably right about the picture simply not being the right size. I sent a message to someone that has one up for sale, maybe I can get confirmation of that.

update: someone from ebay who has one for sale says that it's 29 mm as well. So yeah, definitely an issue with the catalog.

You need to realize that these coins from Ekaterinburg mint did not have a collar unlike the coins from St. Petersburg.

Here's an example from St. Petersburg

And here's a couple from Ekaterinburg

Collars came to Ekaterinburg mint around 20 years later after it was first introduced in St. Petersburg Mint.
