I feel like I've seen something similar here before, but am unable to locate it now. Weighs 25.75 grams. Could not get a clear picture of the edge, but has faint traces of a crude attempt to replicate the design of a genuine coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Albert Pillar of the Community United States 1913 Posts	Posted 06/26/2017 1:25 pm There was a time in Mexico when many coins were sand cast, and they don't look very good, but they are legitimate collectible coins. I know of a collector group that has a checklist for them. I'm not sure that counterfeit is the right term to use (really not knowing and unsure about that). The sand cast coins I talk about might have been copper and maybe from the states instead of Republica Mexicana. Report this Post to the Staff
worldnumis Pillar of the Community United States 731 Posts	Posted 06/26/2017 3:30 pm Your coin appears to be the type officially sand casted in silver by the state of Sinaloa around 1915. They were made using Republican 8 Reales and Pesos circulating at the time to create the sand molds. Yours has more detail showing than usual for these crude pieces. I believe yours is a KM#768.
