I am posting one side of a token, all you have to do is positively identify it, and it is yours free of charge. If you positively identify it and don't want it, then then once it is agreed that it has been correctly identified (because I don't know exactly what it is), I will open it up to someone who would like to have it (and that person will know what they are getting).
To positively identify it, post a verifiable reference source, preferably one that is online. A scan from a book or catalog will also do. I don't know if this will be easy or hard, but hopefully it will be enjoyable. If a week goes by without anyone identifying it, then I will post a photo of the reverse on July 5th. If another week goes by without positive identification, I will just give it to the first person that says they want it. If no one wants it, then I may just put it up on ebay and see what happens.
I won't be checking this post constantly, so be patient with me. I will try to check it a few times a day (early morning, or in the evening), although I am retired, my days are usually busy. First, it weighs 1.2 grams and measures just 17.1 mm in diameter (it is small). It is tiny and it looks old. It appears to be made from bronze or copper. The color of the token is pretty much as shown in the photo. I do not know if it is valuable or a piece of "junk". I hope this turns out to be a fun exercise.

I found something that's very close (maybe another piece in a series of tokens) but not that exactly. This is interesting and challenging.

This is my first contest/giveaway, and I now think the duration is too long. So, I am going to shorten it - So, first I will post a hint. Second, I will post the reverse on Saturday morning. Finally, if it is not identified by July 5th, it will be given away at that evening (if anyone wants it!) Here's the hint -- when I was trying to figure out exactly what token I have, I found this one "nearby", but it is significantly larger, even though the photo is smaller.

Buymyemu, think you're on right track. Was able to discern "...thy kingdom come" on that worn reverse which is part of "The Lord's Prayer", definitely a religious token of some sort. I would venture to say that both of nss52's tokens pictured have something to do with the Pilgrims landing in the new world, two ships, the Indian pictured in clothing of that area and times. Although firearms as depicted showed up 100 years after the Plymouth Colony...? (Grinding sound...) Ahh, maybe founding of New York, Long Island? Muskets like that were late 1600's.

On the second token, those things behind the guy with the gun are not ships.
I will tell you that both of the tokens I posted have the same words on the other sides.

Looks to be a GAR token dating from after the civil war. Why bother with Google, when you need only sesrch within the confines of CCF? http://goccf.com/t/273366Not sure on the exact attribution.

Buymy, that one is pretty close, but it is not the "same guy".

I think you are on to something. Can you post a photo of the reverse, and a source?
