So I have used photo bucket to up load photos on this sight since I joined, what eight years ago? Now this free service has has blocked every photograph I have submitted to our sight until I upgrade and pay for their service.
Anyone else have an issue similar with photo bucket? Any suggestion as to a replacement service or should I just pay up?

Looks like acesKings has a similar issue.

It seems they are the new ransomware.
"Pay up if you want your data back" because they know many users have pics hosted by them in important / educational / and hard worked on threads on forums such as this one.

Don't let them win or others will follow suit.
It stinks to lose so many years of photos, but it's never too late to start fresh. Do most on here use the photo upload feature?

Yes you can and should. Also,I think you can download all of your photos from PB back onto your computer before PB deletes them. John1

I have tried to download my photos from Photobucket many times, and the download has failed every time. I sent several emails to point out this issue, and finally received an answer. See below. I cancelled my subscription!
Hi Josh,
Is this issue going to be resolved?
Thanks,
On May 13, 2017, at 8:50 AM, Hi Josh,
I have sent attachments with each request. Basically I have tried to download an album, but the file seems incomplete. Not all the information was downloaded. Here is a screen shot of the error. And another of the zip file. Is there more information that you would need, just let me know.

I knew this was going to happen and that's why I have been pushing for everyone to upload here. I even upped the upload size limit to waaaayyyy more than necessary and have a new disk (4 times the size) scheduled for install on the server. Now we have thousands of useless topics.
Photobucket has been going downhill for years. The site gets slower and slower because they keep adding more and more ads, now this.
From this moment on Photobucket will not be allowed for images in new posts.
Please upload here.

Quote: Looks like acesKings has a similar issue. Hmmmm......I guess that means all my photo posts are now null and void. I guess I'll need to take advantage of Bobby's generosity and use the forum. I have all my original pics still on my computer, so no need for me to DL back from photobucket. I will however need to find someplace else to use for other forums I frequent.

I used to use that site but since it is not necessary for adding to a post here, no need to use PB anymore. I put all photos on a flash drive as well as my computer. My computer has two hard drives and one is for personal stuff like photos.

In reviewing other forums I frequent, 3 didn't have any of my pics posted anymore, but there were 2 that still did. What would the explanation of this be?

I don't have one. Some are still showing, they may just be in your cache though.
We need to stay away from them anyway, they have proven they can't be trusted.

The very sad thing is.... you know darn well the other free image sites will be watching when the dust settles with PB. If it's favorable for PB they will likely do the same exact thing.
This is why we really need to upload images here.
