Hey there forum contributors, I am looking for pictures of coins/medals of Canada from the years 1867, 1917, 1967, 2017. Please post your favorite coins/exonumia from those years. They can be decimal, graded, bullion, raw, circulated - has to have Canada on it. I'll get us started. Edited by SilverDon 07/01/2017 08:13 am

Thank you Jimmy. We will see some other great coins in this thread I'm sure..and thanks for getting it going Don..
The moment that deep dished silver medal comes out of that original deep dished box, the Queen's face will quickly suffer some handling marks as shown above.
60 of these silver medals were made and handed out to the Fathers of Confederation way back when and then a few more in that group of 60 were passed on to a few other deserving Canadians back in 1867. ~ 300 were also made with the same specs but in bronze and one was made in Gold and resides with the Queen..
I'd love to know how many of the original cases have also survived over the 150 years..
..

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends! 150 years! Probably my favorite as it was found in change here in the US:

Devlec. Great medal. I think details on medals and coins like that create interest in collecting, unlike the lack of detail in many of today's coins

Awesome entries, especially that gorgeous medal from 1867 from DEVLEC. High relief, sweet medal, with original packaging. Loving that gold coin in your set JimmyD, and can't get enough of the 1967 Alex Colville coins Kenkat. Here's a cent from 1917.

Okay I got a one. I have several '67 Canada cents too...but none are very photogenic.

Seeing 1967's seem to be a favourite, I thought I would show a couple more. This set was made for the American market. And our Centennial dollar bill.

My family, 2 crazy parents and 5 kids 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 yrs old, drove from NS to Montreal in a woody station wagon in 1967 for Expo. I was 4. Remember the geodesic dome, big golf ball at Man and His World.

It was a great show for Canada and the rest of the world....I still have my 67 passport for "Man and His World".. Let's keep working to continue that great tradition of openness to the rest of the world.. Quote: Remember the geodesic dome, big golf ball at Man and His World. Nothing like as nice as DEVLEC's beauty, but I am partial to this bronze 1927 confederation medallion. And wow, Devlec, just wow. Beautiful piece of art and history.
