If the horse was 'spitting' I would assume that the 'spit' was caused by little die chips or perhaps a die crack. I don't see either on your coin. Maybe it shows up better in hand. If this is one (just looks like scratches based on your photo), the "spit" will be a raised place on the coin. The spitting horse variety isn't worth a lot of money in any case from what I've seen. How can you guys tell its raised because when I look I do it from all angles like forever before I dare put it on here. I don't like wasting mine or others time. uruman Pillar of the Community United States 5193 Posts	Posted 07/03/2017 4:58 pm , the reason that people here can tell a scratch from a die crack or die chip is the many years lots of them have doing it through pictures,and even when is a scratch one of the sides it's going to be raised ,but the experts can tell by the way the light reflects on it.
