More from the same lot, but this one might be a keeper for my portrait collection--one of the strongest I have seen for this emperor!

@finn, the question of which solvent to start with has been an ongoing discussion over the US coin area. Here is an early thread from @BadThad, where he suggests one potential pathway:

Obviously, removing encrustations from 2000 yo coins is a little different from removing spots on a modern coin, but this might be a good starting place.

With four house guests from out of town this past week, I haven't been able to keep with the posts as much as I would like - but I have caught some of these gold nuggets you've panned from the lot, Steve. Congrats. Good looking coin.

I do wonder, though: do you think there may be any tooling of the beard and hair on this one?
