Hello Coin community . Well I thought that it was about time for me to share some more of my cool new discoveries with the coin community world ... And so to get straight to the point here it is . Today it's a very beautiful and very rare 1993 D Roosevelt dime with a flat grey finish . Now at first I thought that this coin was just a plain Dime that was struck without the Clad layer finish however after some very Through research I discovered that dimes without the Clad finish look brownish like Lincoln cents not flat grey . Also in addition . After doing some deep research I also found only one other 2011 Roosevelt dime with the same exact Flat Grey finish that one other person discovered which I will hopefully get to share later because it is the only other one that I've been able to find so far and his coin only has one side of the coin flat grey and the other side is shinny . But anyway if anyone could share any "Facts" about these rare coins it would be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me like a coin with environmental damage. Search that and see how those images compare to your coin.

I like how smooth the toning is. All my clad detector finds were very crusty and splotchy in toning

that happens when the coin has remained in a DRY SOIL for a long period, I have dug up similar Quarters and Dimes to this a few times.

Lol .... Well thanks a lot guys . All these are some really great guesses . But can anyone actually share photos or provide supporting facts of what they are actually saying because so far I see alot of great different guesses but no actual supporting facts and forgive me for being honest but I'm looking for supporting facts of this mysterious flat Grey finish Dime not responses like it's earth damage when it clearly has a even tone guys or that happens when a coin stays in dirt a really long time. In other words the tone of the coin is even like it was the product of a minting error or intentionally made this way not environmental damage . Theres a big difference .

Just go to the bank and buy a box of dimes. You will find probably a dozen dimes that look just like the one you have. Nothing special. I see these all the time when coin roll hunting. If you feel strongly to the contrary, I strongly encourage you to send your dime in for certification and grading. Would be a good educational experience.

Quote: I see alot of great different guesses but no actual supporting facts Funny, I have not seen you post any facts supporting your argument that it is an "error" It is plainly obvious to me and anyone else who has looked at tens of thousands of coins that the surfaces of that coin oxidized through environmental exposure, simple as that.

What I'm seeing in those pictures isn't even. I see a bit of splochiness, especially on the reverse. I told you exactly where you can view images of coins similar to your. Do a simple google search for environmental damage. It's easy to see the hard evidence when you know what to look for. 5 of us in this thread basically said the same thing. So now search for it.

And it's just a logical theroy biokemist6 not an argument ... Infact I tend to try and use a little common sense whenever I receive several different answers from Experts in the coin community . Because I'm no expert myself . lol

And 5 people haven't provided one single picture of a even toned flat grey environmental damaged Dime . But hey ElonU. your the expert not me and for the record I did research your observations and saw nothing of the sort as I scrolled through those hundreds of environmental damaged dimes sorry

Oh and it is entirely a flat grey even tone on the front and back of the coin and there are zero splotches nowhere on the coin which is why I decided to post the coin in the first place . So you may want to clean your screen ElonU

Hardfinds80, I see you are using our optimizer. Please use the crop function before you do anything else. I just cropped most of the images you've uploaded since you've been here. Ton of wasted space on most of them.
