Too many dings and nicks to be considered collectible.
There are so many of these available in higher grades.
If it has some sentimental value by all means keep it, otherwise it's a spender.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

AU-58, agree it's a spender.

Do you have a Canadian coin catalogue?

I have Charlton Stnadard COin Catalouge. But it doesn't do me much good because I have trouble with grades. Also, I guess I'm hoping that by holding onto them they might go up in value? Spending 50 cents isn't much now a days anyways. So I was wondering to what year would be reasonable keeping?

Spend everything from '68 on (some 68's as well) because there's no silver after you compare the dates that you have with a reliable pub or website. Use the 50 cents for tips to the paper person/barkeep .. most people have never seen one. Most parking meters older than 2-3 years take 50 cents as toonies because they are the same size ... it's not your fault that you are feeding it approved Cdn money and it misreads it .. it's so many minutes for a dollar.

In the good old days we'd try anything to add time to the parking meters..old knock-out plugs from octagon electrical boxes worked well and some washers did also.

Our taxes will now have to go up to make up for these heavy revenue losses..
